JAMIA AHMADIYYA NIGERIA

Long before the establishment of Jamia Nigeria, in 1958, the Jama’at in Nigeria mooted the concept of establishing training lesson classes for Islamic education. This was set up in Surulere Lagos, Ijebu Ode and Ilaro in Ogun State. These institutions were not strictly formal, because they were run between 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm daily. There were no clear-cut admission requirements. The old, young, male and female attended. There was also not standard curriculum.

With time, the need of having an improved and standard institution became expedient, hence a training school started in Ijebu-Ode, later in Ibadan and Ebute Meta in Lagos. Read more

JAMIA AHMADIYYA HISTORY

Jamia Ahmadiyya  is an institution that aims to produce such scholars and missionaries of the Jama’at, whose task is to propagate the pristine form of Islam as taught by the Promised Messiah and the Mahdias.

Jamia Ahmadiyya has its root of establishment from the time of Promised Messiahas himself, in form of Madrassah Ahmadiyya,  because later, the same Madrassah was to evolve into Jami’a Ahmadiyya that provided knowledge to the ‘Waqfeen-e-Zindagi’ and was to become a great educational institution for their education and training.

Many venerable members of the Jama’at passed away in 1905. Particularly the deaths of Hadrat Maulvi Abdul Karim Sialkotira and Hadrat Maulvi Burhanuddin Jehlamira caused tremendous grief for the whole Jama’at. Allah the Almighty had already informed the Promised Messiahas by revelation,

Jamia Ahmadiyya Nigeria is a prestigious Islamic seminary school of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, a global Islamic Jama’at (organization) known for its emphasis on peace, love, and service to humanity.

The primary objective of establishing this institution is to produce dedicated, spiritually grounded, morally upright, and intellectually proficient missionaries. These scholars will possess expertise not only in religious studies but also in secular knowledge. To realize this vision, we offer a comprehensive curriculum featuring structured courses such as Tajweedul Qur’an, Tarjamatul Qur’an, Tafseer, ‘Ilmul Hadith, ‘Ilmul Kalam, Fiqh, Comparative Religious Studies, Tasawwuf, Tarikh, as well as Arabic, Urdu, and English languages. Upon successful completion of the four-year program, students receive a Mubashir certificate, recognizing their academic accomplishments and preparedness for future endeavors.
