Jamia Ahmadiyya Nigeria held Jalsa Seerat-un-Nabi on Sunday, 7 September 2025, in honour of the life and noble character of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (sa). The programme commenced at 11:00 am under the chairmanship of Hafiz Muslihudeen Opayemi Sahib, Coordinator of the Hafiz Class Nigeria.
The event began with the recitation of the Holy Qur’an, followed by beautiful poems in Arabic and Urdu composed by the Promised Messiah, Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (peace be upon him), in praise of the Holy Prophet Muhammad sa.
Lecture one: The Holy Prophet: A Model for Missionaries
The first lecture was delivered by Badmus Masroor Ahmad, a student of Jamia Ahmadiyya Nigeria, on the theme: “Holy Prophet Muhammad (sa) as a Role Model for Missionaries.”
The speaker highlighted the Prophet’s role as the greatest teacher of mankind, whose effectiveness lay not only in his words but in his personal example. He reminded the gathering that missionaries are ambassadors of Islam, and their success depends on reflecting the Prophet’s qualities in their own lives.

He drew attention to four key lessons from the Prophet’s life that every missionary must adopt:
- Excellence of Character: The Prophet’s truthfulness, humility, and integrity softened hearts even before he spoke.
- Spirit of Sacrifice: He endured persecution, hunger, and hardship purely for Allah’s cause, showing that sacrifice is the backbone of missionary work.
- Trust in Allah: In all circumstances, whether in Makkah under oppression or in Madinah under siege, the Prophet (sa) displayed unshakable reliance on Allah.
- Compassion and Mercy: Even towards opponents, the Prophet responded with forgiveness and kindness, teaching missionaries to win hearts through love rather than hostility.
Quoting examples from the Holy Prophet’s dealings with companions and adversaries alike, he concluded that true missionary work requires living by the Prophet’s model in every sphere of life.
Lecture Two: Eternal Signs of the Prophet’s Truth
The second lecture, delivered by Maulvi Zeeshan Zafrullah Sahib, a lecturer at Jamia, explored the theme: “Miracles of the Holy Prophet: Eternal Signs of His Truth and Divine Support.”
He explained that while miracles were granted to all prophets, those of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (sa) stand unmatched in scope and permanence. Among them were the splitting of the moon, the increase of food during scarcity, and the flowing of water from his blessed hands etc.

He described the Holy Qur’an as the greatest and everlasting miracle, peerless in its eloquence, timeless in its guidance, and enduring as a living proof of the Prophet’s (sa)truth.
Most remarkable, however, was the spiritual transformation of the Arabs, from a people divided by tribal feuds into a united nation of faith and morality. This, he said, remains the Prophet’s most enduring miracle.
Principal’s Remarks
In his remarks, the Principal of Jamia, Hafiz Syed Shahid Ahmed Sahib, clarified that the Jalsa Seerat-un-Nabi was not a celebration of the Prophet’s birthday, which finds no basis in Islamic history, but rather a reflection on his life and example.
Quoting the Holy Qur’an, “Say, if you love Allah, follow me; then Allah will love you” (3:32), he reminded students that true love for the Prophet lies in obedience and practical emulation of his teachings.

Closing Session
The Chairman of the event, Hafiz Muslihudeen Opayemi Sahib, concluded with a reminder on the importance of obedience to Allah, His Messenger, and the system of the Jama’at. He urged students to remain steadfast in faith, loyal to Khilafat, and ready to serve Islam with humility and sacrifice.

The programme ended with silent prayer.
