In response to the rising crime rate in society, Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya Nigeria (MKAN) has intensified its efforts to combat societal ills through its “Stop the Crime” campaign. This nationwide initiative aims to build the moral and spiritual capacity of young people as a proactive measure against crime.
The “Stop the Crime” (STC) campaign, launched in 2015, has become an annual event and a key feature of MKAN’s broader social welfare projects. These include free medical expeditions, regular blood donations, tree planting, youth capacity-building programs, talent promotion, fostering inter-religious harmony, and numerous community support initiatives.
On Saturday, February 3, 2024, f Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya Jamia Muqami carried out their Stop The Crime Campaign in the Ilẹba and Sabo areas of Ilaro, Ogun State, focusing on the pressing issue of domestic violence.
The event commenced at 9:40 a.m. and concluded at 11:50 a.m., featuring multiple activities:
- Distribution of Pamphlets: Informational leaflets highlighting the dangers of domestic violence were distributed to members of the public.
- Public Talks: A 20-minute lecture on domestic violence was delivered at Ilẹba Junction, benefiting numerous attendees.
- Awareness March: Participants, carrying banners condemning domestic violence, marched to the Sabo area, where another impactful talk was given.
Four special traffic control squads ensured smooth road usage during the event. In total, 14 Khuddam (youth members) actively participated in the campaign, demonstrating a strong commitment to raising awareness and promoting positive societal change.
