A special gathering was held today at Jamia Ahmadiyya Nigeria to commemorate Yaum-e-Khilafat (Khilafat Day), marking the blessings of the divinely established institution of Khilafat-e-Ahmadiyya. The event, held on 25 May 2026, was chaired by Maulana Adnan Tahir Sahib, Missionary in Charge of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at Nigeria.

The programme featured two scholarly lectures, followed by insightful remarks from the Missionary in Charge. The gathering brought together students, faculty, and missionaries to reflect on the enduring relevance of Khilafat in the contemporary world.

First Lecture: Remaining Connected to Khilafat in the Digital Age

The first lecture was delivered by Mukarram Muftahudeen Abdul Qadir (Mu’allim Silsila, Ilaro Circuit). He addressed a pressing challenge of our era: how to remain truly connected to Khilafat amidst the distractions and opportunities of the digital age.

Drawing from the guidance of Hazrat Khalifatul Masih V (aba), he emphasized that genuine connection to Khilafat is not measured by how much one watches MTA or scrolls social media, but by the strength of one’s relationship with Allah. He quoted the Khalifa’s simple but profound instruction: “The true way to connect with Khilafat is to first connect with Allah the Almighty.”

He also highlighted official guidelines from the Jamaat on social media use, reminding students that there is no difference between ethics in the physical and digital worlds. He warned against online distractions, anti-Ahmadiyya propaganda, and the temptation to become self-appointed scholars. Instead, he urged the students to make prayer, obedience, and purposeful online conduct the hallmarks of their digital lives.

Second Lecture: Amid Global Wars – Khilafat-e-Ahmadiyya, the Only Hope for Lasting World Peace

The second lecture was delivered by Maulvi Lamina Nurullah (Lecturer, Jamia Ahmadiyya Nigeria). He painted a sobering picture of the current global landscape, marked by devastating wars in Gaza, Ukraine-Russia, Sudan, and rising tensions between major powers.

Quoting from the writings of the Promised Messiah (as) and the sermons of Hazrat Khalifatul Masih V (aba), he argued that man-made institutions — the United Nations, military alliances, and secular politics — have failed to secure peace because they are built on self-interest, not justice. He cited the Holy Quran (Surah Ar-Rum, verse 42) to identify the root cause: “Corruption has spread on land and sea because of what men’s hands have wrought.”

He declared that Khilafat-e-Ahmadiyya is not a human invention but a divine promise from the Holy Quran (Ch. 24: V. 56), fulfilled before our eyes. Unlike worldly systems, the Khalifa answers only to God, speaks truth to power without political motive, and unites people of all nations, races, and backgrounds under one spiritual banner. He concluded that lasting world peace is impossible without returning to God, and that Khilafat remains the only institution capable of leading humanity out of its self-destruction.

In his concluding remarks, Maulana Adnan Tahir Sahib, Missionary in Charge of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at Nigeria, advised the students to deeply internalise the two lectures and to make obedience to the Khalifa the cornerstone of their lives.

He highlighted the unique blessings of Khilafat as a uniting force for all mankind, noting that under one Khalifa, Ahmadis from Palestine, Israel, India, Pakistan, America, and Iran sit together in peace — something no political leader has ever achieved. He urged the students of Jamia, as future missionaries, to embody this unity and to carry the message of peace and obedience to the wider world.

“Listen and obey the Khalifa of the time,” he said. “Khilafat is not a political office; it is a spiritual lifeline. It alone can heal the fractures of humanity and bring true peace.”

The event concluded with silent prayer led by the Missionary in Charge.
